We do have a system where it's possible to pump water from the creek into the ponds. But it requires using the tractor, and it uses up a lot of gasoline. Hubby got the old well running, and we can run water from that, but of course it is almost dry right now, with all this drought.

I am so afraid that the bottom getting dry and cracking will affect the ponds' ability to hold water. Hubby thinks this is silly, but I've been reading Pablo's blog too much to not be worried about this! (In my mind we need MORE silt, not less, LOL.)Ruralityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06616461213179182660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10013142.post-68615269103417549312007-11-21T06:08:00.000-06:002007-11-21T06:08:00.000-06:00Since your lake is dry, would you take this chance...Since your lake is dry, would you take this chance to get in there and dig out some of the silt?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10013142.post-84559230657715725352007-11-20T16:50:00.000-06:002007-11-20T16:50:00.000-06:00We dug a pond last summer to try to control all th...We dug a pond last summer to try to control all the water that runs over our property.
