"Wow," said some rich person who happened upon this blog via strange googling, "if she had that fancy $8000 Canon digital camera, I'll bet her photos of the moon would look a lot better."
The anonymous rich person, in a display of uncharacteristic generosity, ordered the camera straightaway and had it sent to the poor blogger.
There was much rejoicing.
And then I woke up.
Ah, the beautiful Worm Moon of March...and next time you are dreaming of this generous blog-reader please put in a good word for me. I, too, would like to have one of those expensive cameras!
ReplyDeleteI think you're mooning quite well with what you have, but in your next dream, remind the benefactor that you will need about the same amount for lens and accessories. Hope your battening down the hatches tonight; could be rough going.
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me!
ReplyDeleteS4M, will do... I'll make every effort to dream him/her up again after the big Easter lunch. I'll probably need a nap right about then anyway.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fletch & Rhodent.
I forgot about needing all those extras. Maybe the benefactor knows that already though.
Actually I don't think I've ever known a filthy rich person, but in my limited experience with pretty rich folks, they are not in the habit of giving things away.
In fact I think they spend a lot of time screwing over people with small amounts of money... that's how they got rich in the first place I guess.
Almost every small business person I've met has a story about some rich person who refused to pay for services already rendered.
I'd love to be proven wrong about all that though. :)
You know, if you're the type of person who sends cards for each and every occasion, this shot would make amazing harvest or Halloween greetings.
ReplyDeletewhat do you shoot with now?
ReplyDeleteMarsha, thanks, I'm more the type of person who's forced to send cards at gunpoint. :)
ReplyDeleteCharles, I need to make a faq, I know, but it's a Sony Mavica CD1000.
That's a wonderful image, Karen. For any season. We had a similar view here in Kentucky last night I thought you made a great exposure to bring out some detail on the surface.
ReplyDeleteI bought my mom a cannon for her b-day. it wasn't 8 grand though!! but she really likes it. i think you take excellent photos. hope you had a nice easter. i did. smiles.
ReplyDeleteThanks -
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back among the living Orphyus!
Jenni, I used to be a big Nikon snob but I think that Canon may have the better digital camera nowdays.
I would point the anonymous rich benefactor to the beautiful pictures on the Sensitive Light website (see right sidebar)... that guy is using the $8K camera.
Of course if I had that, I'd probably never get any real work done, so I'm sure it's just as well. :)
i love how the cloud looks like an owl or a hawk with it's wings cupping the moon! your place here is a delight. embarassed to say i just now figured out how to comment!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne - I went to look at your place, and wow your pictures are fantastic!
