Critter Cam update

Not much new and exciting on the critter cam lately, except for this:

How rude!

-----
Coyote (Canis latrans).

Previous critter cam entries:
Night moves
Say cheese
Ooh, nice...
In the still of the night
More game cam
Bobcat Valentine
Scaredy-deer

We'll try moving the camera over the weekend, but I'm wondering if maybe it just doesn't work as well in warm weather. (It has an infrared sensor = triggers on heat.)

Funny - my first thought when I saw the pic was - "how rude". But what can you expect from canines :-)

Does the cuddeback have a sensitivity control? If so, upping it might help in warmer weather. But you're right - as the weather warms it will be harder for it to distinguish warm bodies from warm air.

  2. Those coyotes have no manners. They are chicken stealers and worse.
That critter cam is the neatest thing.

Maybe you could, I dunno, set it up to see if anyone is raiding your refrigerator at night. (Not me!)

  6. The heat thing makes sense. Maybe we'll see some coyote pups this spring.

Canis latrans, huh? Maybe that should be C. latrines? :^D

  9. He looks like he is getting set to chase the Roadrunner. Dad says all he needs is rocket skates.

I got yelled at for peeing in the bushes when I wasn't even doing it. This guy is in big trouble.

Thanks for telling me the name of my lizard in my picture. I knew YOU would know!

  10. Wayne, it does. Hubby said he set it for the max already.

TMG, yep I think they stole a few of ours last spring.

Pablo, well I don't really need the camera for that. :)

RD the chickens are promoting an active rabbit breeding program.

    YSW, they have no shame!

FC that would be both good and bad. Cute but chicken-endangering.

    KSM, thanks!

Pete, LOL! Why didn't I think of that?!

ArtLad, you are right. Maybe he's just about to start a race. Naaaah. :)
