OK, cookies going out to all the hungry people. If they don't reach you, you can surely blame your postal carrier. :)
FC, I must have forgotten to put it in... :) Actually the original recipe had nuts but I don't care that much for nuts in cookies so I used dates instead. Not sure how chocolate chips & orange candy would go together. Though I do like those chocolate oranges they sell at Christmas...
Jenn it's a funny story about that Jiffy mix. The first time I wanted to make those cookies, I was at the store and had to call my Mom (who'd given me the recipe) on the cell phone, since I'd left my shopping list at home. I was wandering up and down the cake mix aisle saying, "I can't find the Jiffy cake mix!" There was a stockboy there who pointed it out to me, and heard me say, "Oh I couldn't find it because it is only in one tiny row on the bottom shelf." Ever since that day, Jiffy has been on TWO tiny rows at the bottom of the shelf! :)
That looks yummy! Is it vegetarian? Than send some over, please. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat are the red bits in the cookies?
ReplyDeleteSabine, it does have eggs. :)
ReplyDeleteJohn, the red/orange bits are orange candy slices. The dark bits are dates.
It has to be an easy recipe or I can't make it... I'm sort of baking deficient. So this one starts with... 1 box Jiffy cake mix.
Eggs are ok, I am an ovo-lacto vegetarian. You've got my address...
ReplyDeleteShe bake, me drool.
ReplyDeleteShe bake. Make me hungry.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little concerned...I can't see any chocolate in those cookies.
ReplyDeleteMmm. Jiffy mixes. That's a company local to my neck of the woods. It's cool to see it mentioned where you are.
ReplyDeleteI love the brownie mix - I make up the super fudgie recipe on the box, with walnuts and extra dark choco chips... heaven!

That looks pretty darn yummy...even without chocolate.
ReplyDeleteMmm, those look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI thought at first that the red things were bits of Turkish delight...mmmm!
Well I had to look that one up. Sounds like you could use that too!
