FC, somebody brought me this one from a rescue site. I don't really have an idea place for it but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will do ok where I've put it.
My guess for your yellow flower is that it's a Rudbeckia of some kind. Probably either Rudbeckia laciniata (Tall Coneflower) or Rudbeckia triloba (Thin-leaved Coneflower). Do you know if either grow in your area?
They both do, along with other Rudbeckia. Could also be a type of Silphium, Helianthus, Coreopsis, or Heterotheca. I have to admit that summer flowers just don't conjure the same excitement for me as the spring varieties do. I think it's the humidity.
beautiful! hmm. i see that the genus 'dontknowenuf stuffidus' has a wide variety - i've got some red ones here.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I used to own a swampy pineland that had the yellow fringed orchids on it. They were a favorite.
ReplyDeleteCTR, it is something related to that, probably. One of the sunflowers maybe... but there are just so dang many of them that are so similar.
