I had chickadees working on a nest in one of my boxes - and then they abandoned it. It sits empty now. I'm really sad about it and wonder why they left.
I cannot even stand the sheer cuteness! My goodness - soo so very cute!
You might like another website I frequent (though I know you already have plenty on your list) - it's http://hollowhappenings.blogspot.com/ - my best friend's sister's blog. Lots of wildlife photos from the wildlife rehab where she volunteers.
I almost did the same thing with some tree swallows nesting in one of our bluebird boxes here at work, but then I decided not to, as the parents were so stressed as I approached the nest box. I'm glad you took photos - maybe I'll try again with the undoubted next brood of swallows!
In one of my photography classes they told us that with animals you should always try to get the eye(s) in focus. This camera however has a mind of its own and doesn't understand that rule!
We had another box where bluebirds had started a nest, but abandoned it. Not sure why.
Sorry I haven't been responding to comments or visiting other blogs as well as normal - just super busy lately!
wow, it looks good to me though. great shot
ReplyDeleteNeat that you were able to get so close. We saw one yesterday on a branch of one of my new trees. That sure was a pleasurably thing to see.
ReplyDeleteSweet -

I posted about baby birds today too. Just purple finches though. Not nearly as exciting as bluebirds. How exciting.

I love the bluebirds- that flash of color when they flit around. Its nice to know there are more beauties about :)
