I almost spoke too soon... after another marathon DSL fix-it session (two guys for 6 hours this time, and they didn't show up until Thursday), we thought all was well. Oh, the relief! The zippy page loading!
But that comfy, fluffy feeling was missing again the next morning, along with the DSL.
Yesterday it only took two fix-it hours (times two guys) to restore sanity. And so far, so good. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Fingers crossed here. But I'd like to know how come you have DSL out in yur boondocks and we can't get it here in our semi-rural setting...this is definitely not an area for impatient people...
ReplyDeleteNice pic of the cactus (cacti?) babies
Just two more days until we can order DSL here. Don't know how long it takes to get installed after the order is placed. I am so ready. Using satellite now
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for you. All we expect from our computers and connections are that they will work. It's so frustrating when they don't. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI hope it continues to work for purely selfish reasons. The world seems like a more hollow place without frequent posts from the Queen of All Blogs.
ReplyDeleteThanks y'all!
ReplyDeleteGrace, it's two days and running now! Maybe it'sll stick. And I think we have DSL because we're close to the highway.
Bill, you will love it, as long as it works. :)
NCMW, I don't think frustrating is a strong enough word to describe my feelings this past week or so! All better now, though. :)
Thanks Pablo, you always know how to cheer me up!
Ah, geez.
ReplyDeleteWe had an issue with our phone line like that. For years. Gah. They finally fixed it by switching to another of the feed cables that came to the house. Why did it take so long? Not for minds like mine to know.
Wishing for you much strength~!
Jenn, I think they accidentally switched ours too during the repairs, because it was out briefly. But they realized it before they left, thankfully.
