'Tis the season for baby toads.
Everywhere a nest, nest.
Woodpecker playground.
Top of the previous tree, now on the ground.
Somewhere behind these leaves, many warblers were cheerfully singing.
(Kentucky, Blue-winged, Common Yellowthroat, Northern Parula, Louisiana Waterthrush.)
Happy with "just clover".
Black Knot & the Cherry Tree.
Looking very lush and beautiful there. Love that yellow butterfly.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, ... all yours?
ReplyDeletegreat pictures. you shoot terrific nature scenes.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a woodpecker habging around our backyard lately too, first time I've seen them. :)
ReplyDeleteRA, yes, we have had an overabundance of rain this spring.
ReplyDeleteFC, yep, all taken here at our place in our little hikes between raindrops.
WLB, thanks! I was lucky not to get the camera wet this time. :)
Lythrum, I wish I could see that tree from the house - I have a feeling it's pileated wps doing all that work.
beautiful pictures the tree top on the ground is my favorite.
ReplyDeletewe've been dodging raindrops here too. your pictures turned out beautifully. at least this time i remembered to put the camera inside before i went out and jumped in the puddles. you know, they're never really the same after you soak 'em.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time I had what I called a woodpecker hotel and would sit and watch the various birdies~ Sadly, a storm knocked it over with all the little ones still inside :(
ReplyDeleteWhile I was digging taters the other day all kinds of frogs were hipping and hopping about. And the worms I dug up! I gave Dog one (she is such a beggar and will even eat a raw potato if I throw it at her). She didn't care for the worm too much and if looks could kill, I'd be 8 feet under :)
i especially like the butterfly
ReplyDeleteCute little toad, and your orange sulphur butterfly is beautiful!
