I was just sitting down last night to answer comments and say that all was well, when our power went out.
We went to bed early, which was good because I think I woke up 50 times during the night. Lots and lots and lots of wind! Not sustained, but gusty, and strong. It was scary.
Half of Alabama is without power. There are more homes out in central Alabama than down in the Mobile area, which is strange, but maybe just because more people live here.
We may be some of the last to be restored, since it's only us that's out nearby - everyone else in our area has electricity.
So it may be a while before I can post again.
Everyone is fine, though! It didn't even rain that much. I'm not sure of the amount though, because we have a crazy dog who likes to play in the rain and she knocked over the gauge.
Glad you're OK. I hope you get power back before it becomes a serious problem. Gonna barbecue everything in the freezer?
ReplyDeleteHey! Not sure at what point you may get this but if ya'll need any help you can contact me at my studio. (Hey, its me, Ann) I can't offer lodging because we live in the back of a store (no house) but you can use my office for computer etc. and kitchen, whatever you might need.
ReplyDeleteCan't even imagine what your creek looks like about now. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHello to Jasmine.
Happy that you're safe. Take care,
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're safe. Hopefully you'll get power back sooner than expected.
ReplyDeleteRomantic candlelit dinners are in order.
ReplyDeleteThank you for thinking of us and letting us know how you are. Glad to hear that you are ok. Wish we could help, but our spare bedroom is 3000 miles from your power outage. If good wishes could restore things, the solution would be at hand.
ReplyDeleteSending you our best.
Glad you're OK. We demand pictures of teh creek!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are safe & sound! How did the chickens handle the storm? I agree with Nio, candlelit dinners are in order... or is your stove electric?
ReplyDeleteI can remember one Thanksgiving when we lost power, Mom cooked everything one dish at a time on a single-burner propane camp stove! Hope you are not reduced to that!
Glad to hear you and yours are okay. Take care.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're okay!
ReplyDeleteThank the Lord you are safe. Hope the power comes on soon.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you're okay. Good luck surviving the power outage & other inconveniences, and we'll be here when you're back.
ReplyDeleteVery glad to hear you are safe and sound, though without power. I hope it doesn't take too terribly long to get restored.

We too were wondering about you and the critters. Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteJust a reminder - if you haven't called Alabama Power's outage hotline, you should do so - it does help.
ReplyDeleteHey, good to hear from you. Prayers are with you from the north, too. (Toronto)
ReplyDeleteI too am glad to hear that you're ok. Thanks for letting us know why you may be off-line for a while!
ReplyDeleteNiobium has the right idea...romantic candle light dinners sound like just the thing!
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody. We are camping out at a house that has electricity but not much else. Using my new sleeping bag for the first time!
ReplyDeleteWill be visiting the farm several times a day for critter feeding and such. Way, way too hot & humid to stay there without power!
No time to blog, as I'm trying to finish getting ready for the upcoming craft show!
Good to hear from you, thanks for the shout out!
ReplyDeleteThere are others that I will be worrying about for a long while, I suspect. (Ah the wonders of the small world on the web.) I'm glad you folks are relativily unscathed.
Hope all returns to normal for you soon, Rurality. Allmy best to the liestock, as well.
ReplyDeleteWhew! Was Thinking 'bout you and the farm inhabitants!
ReplyDeleteMay the power of the electricity be with you soon. (I know, pretty lame geek joke. What do you want on a Wednesday?)
Glad to hear from you. I figured you would be ok though. Don't know why. In any case, I know exactly what you about being the last to be reconnected to the grid. It is the price to pay for rural peace I reckon.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you're ok.
ReplyDeleteso glad to hear y'all ar OK.
ReplyDeleteI just hope you aren't in the same undisclosed secure location that Cheney seems to have disapeared back into.
Take care. Give the big crazy, fuzzy white pupster a big hug.
glad to hear you are all, puppy and cats included, safe
ReplyDeletebig hugs to you and all the furry gang at your place...stay safe! =^..^=
ReplyDeleteWould that "undisclosed secure location" be in Alberta by some chance? We're getting Katrina's rain and humidity in NH, so I'm thinking the only "secure location" is in Canada.
ReplyDeleteWOW! This hurricane is showing its consequences all over the country. The children's hospital in Kansas City is now packed with kids evacuated from the disaster zone. Just like blogs, I get a real sense of community from realizations like this.
ReplyDeletesending good thoughts your way and wishing you safety and security. all the best!
ReplyDeleteGlad y'all are alright. That was a mighty scary blow. We lost power for about 12 hours and there was a lot of debris, but no serious damage around here.
ReplyDeleteHope you get back up and going a.s.a.p. and that everything is safe and secure.
