Cuties

Recovering nicely from their operations.

Ginger (L) is the boy and George is the girl. Clearly, sexing kittens is not among our talents. They laugh at us at the vet's office.

"Ginger Baker!" I want to yell. "George Sand! Rebel cats who'll never conform to your archaic provincial notions of gender roles!"

Anyway, now they are both "fixed".

Looks like I'll be really busy between now and Christmas, filling soap orders. My dreams are filled with boxes and tape. Visions of shrinkwrap, bubble fill and packing peanuts dance in my head.

It doesn't feel normal, not having the time to write here or to visit other blogs. I miss being able to record the small things. It's been dry... it rained... but not enough... the swamp area is almost completely drained... there were four huge male turkeys in the backyard... I snuck out of the craft show to see part of the Veteran's Day parade and was surprised to become so emotional... Mom's been here, helping me wrap soap. See you later.

Soooooooooooo very good to have you back. The world is once again a good place.

I assumed you were so busy counting your earnings from the craft fairs that you didn't have time for blogging (but I worried that it could be something bad).

Anyway, post when you can. I'll keep coming back!

  2. Those are two very cute cats. Nice to see them again, and wonderful to have you back.

Good luck with all the work ahead. I'll keep checking in to see if you've posted something new.

  3. Entopy Girl saw the cats and started mewing. We're deep into the animal sounds phase, it seems.

Hope your busy season goes well and smoothly. I'm embarking on mine, as well.

  5. Nice kitty portrait. Don't sweat the whole blog thing...I miss it too from time to time, but as a group, bloggers are fairly forgiving about the times when the real world requires our attention.

  8. I love their names. But then, I named a cat Fahfrd after a barbarian in a sword and sorcery book series, and a dog Hoggle from the movie labyrinth.

Neither one can folks get right. I understand the weird name without a vowel getting mangled, but I thought 'Hoggle' was pretty straightforward.

Nonetheless, the cat gets shortened to Faf (fair enough), and the dog gets called Huggle and Hogie and all sorts of weird names...

Good to see you and the moggies. Have a great holiday season, and make lots of soap and sell it too! I'll be looking in for new stuff and I'll know why, if there isn't any. Don't forget to take some time to bask in the holiday glow, with a lapful of cat!

    They are so cute!

A shame you do not ship your soap to Europe. ;-( It looks great. Makes me wish the internet would allow us to post smells. But then again, that may not be so desirable in other cases.

PS: There is a picture of my cat in one of the first posts in my blog. But I will post more after Christmas, when Santa has brought the digital camera.
