Virginia bluebells (Mertensia virginica).
We have an area that floods whenever it rains a lot in the spring. It was pretty grown up, so Hubby cut a couple of paths through it with the tractor.
Look what popped up on one of the paths!

Oh, I love, love, love bluebells. The combination of the lavender buds and the blue blooms is just stunning. I wish I could grow them, but they need a moist wooded area like you have, to be happy. Great photo.
Wow...I'm amazed & impressed that you have wildflowers already! As much as I love New England, I miss having a real spring (vs. snow in March, mud in April, & black flies in May).

Oh what great colors you have there. I love seeing spring in Alabama, and knowing it's going to work its way north until it shines its warm and sunny light here. Until then, I'm enjoying having a bit of your spring.

Y'all are really ahead of us up here in East Tennessee. The bluebells usually don't show up until mid to late April up this way. Spring is so awesome!

Yes these are current pics. But for everyone further north who's a little jealous, I would point out that we're having a frost or two again this week. And tornado warnings.
I'd almost take a tornado warning or two to escape this frozen and dreary weather that we can't seem to shake.
Bluebells are one of my favourites though. Enjoy.
i grew up with these as my favorite. when i was little my grandmother took me to a place by a creek that was covered with bluebells. i can still see it if i close my eyes.
