Recalled to life

The cicadas (Tibicen sp.?) are emerging. So am I.

Glad to finally be above ground.

Glad to see you back but cicadas, oh no! Seeing trees covered with their skins gives me the willies :-)I had a cat once who liked to eat cicadas. She would stroll into the house with one still buzzing in her mouth!q

Wow! What amazing pictures! Thanks for sharing!

Nature can teach us so much. In what ways is your own life emerging with the cicadas?

Glad you are back. Missed you..

This is such an ideal post/photo combination that I suspect you've been waiting for the ideal chance to use it. Well, if you are able to make posts again, then I consider that an ideal situation.

Oh good, you're back! And with a pair of gorgeous photos too. What a lovely, tender shade of green that bug is.

And all this time I've been shamelessly ripping off your "natural grafitti" meme, with my decidedly inferior pix. Now I want a macro lens. More than that, I want more of your posts. They make my day.

welcome back - i've missed you. these things used to scare the pewat out of me when i was a kid (the emerged cicada), but my sister and i used to collect the empty shells and hang them everywhere. weird little kids!!

Thanks everybody, I think life will resume as normal now. :)

Eva this is the first time I ever saw one emerging. He didn't move a whisker in the whole time that I was all up in his face taking pictures!

SM, I've been away from the blog for a while now so I'm just newly above ground too.

H&B2, I didn't even know you were back. Yay!

Pablo, I took the photo about a week ago. When trying to think of what to post last night, the similarity occured to me!

Thanks Ron! I was particularly struck by the odd shade of green. I'm off to check your blog, just after this comment. :)

YSW, if I'd seen this bug as a kid I'd have been scard too I think. But we only ever saw their shells back then.

Clare, I think I'm back for a while. I just had too many things going on at once for a while there.

CB, I think he's just happy to see you. :)

Thanks Janet, Dave & OW. I've only got a billion blog posts to catch up on reading now...

Dog catches the cicadas and carries them around in her mouth- grinning. Crazy dog.. Glad to see you posting again. I'm always interested in what you are going to catch on film next.

I have been trying to catch a picture of these birds who have built a nest near the lake to send to you if you dont mind. Maybe you know what they are but I have never seen them around here before.
