Lots of dry weather followed by some wet weather = split tomatoes.
I was just going to take a picture of the interesting split patterns, and didn't notice the messaage at first. When I saw it, I thrust it at my husband excitedly.
Me: "Look, look!" Hubby: "What? Is it the face of Jesus?"
I'm sure you'll find the face of Jesus somewhere in the garden. Or Our Lady of Fatima. Or Saint John the Babtist. Or Saints Fragile and Expedite. Or His Noodliness the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
During the world cup someone sold a slice of marble cake on Ebay because the chocolate part was shaped like the World Cup goblet. I can't remember how much she got but it was a couple of hundred euros. You should think about that for your friendly tomatoe.
Sadly, considering the perishability factor, I think the future of Ebaying erudite tomatoes is limited. Really too bad. I think toast is by far the best medium for that.
Oh by the way, check out Maktaaq's report - I swear I didn't read that before composing this one!
OW, I heard about that too, but haven't seen any. I think it's more south than here that it's happening (I hope).
Don't you even think about entering one of your fancy-schmancy tomatoe photos into that food photo contest sponsored by that famous food magazine...of which I will never tell you the name...even though you were trying to get me off the track by suggesting I should enter Jazz into some silly pets contest.
Living in rural north central Alabama. Currently overstocked with pets and poultry. Having lived in several small towns and larger cities, country life is taking some getting used to.
The photo is of Jasmine, fearless protector of the homestead from coyotes, bobcats, deer, herons, airplanes, butterflies and fuzzy little bunnies.

Oh, that's great. Thank you!

It's happened to you, too! The worms are getting to revolt!
Looks like eBay material!
Took me a moment before I saw it!
I admit I was busy looking for the face of Jesus and didn't catch the message at first :-) Very pretty colors on that tomato.
Oh I must go look to see what my vegetables are saying to me!
I had always thought that the first sentient tomato would say something a little saucier.

Our tomatoes are still too young, and green, to talk but now, thanks to you, I shall be listening and watching.
Heard a story on CBC radio the other day about huge nests of Yellow Jacket Wasps down your way. Have you seen any large nests yet?

That is so cool! :)
I be that tomato was good. It's always the banged up ones that taste the best.
Well now I've heard of crop-circles but writing right on individual fruits and vegetables? Those aliens are getting rather pretentious aren't they?

I know your type and I'm not falling for it.
Ha - it's probably a magazine I already have, I've just been to busy to open it...
Aliens, huh? I should have known!
