love it. well, except for the broken spider. Furry spiders are not my friends. What is the picture of the thing that sort of looks like a fish head with a crayfish tail?
Those are very beautiful pictures and some lovely poetry.
Meredith, it's a crayfish! Or crawfish, or crawdad, depending on where you're from. :) Actually it's just the shed skin of one.
Thanks Jochen! I just changed it a little bit... added one more pic.
Wonderful!
Lovely collection of pics and poems. All very beautiful. I saw a coyote in the tall grass outside our fence yesterday. I tried to get a pic of it, but the camera could not discern the tawny creature among the browning blades.
Very nice. Beautiful sky pic.
Hope rain fell from it.
While Google searching "Cuckoo Marans", I ventured across your spot - great photos! Nice to find another Southern neighbor ~
Have a great weekend,
Harriette
Lovely... I just devoured your post. :)
That's very nice - the photos are great.
Lovely set of photos!
I've been looking at cameras for over a year now and am still undecided. So much money to spend, I want to get what fits the bill so to speak and when I finally decide on one, I find something out about it I don't like. Its very frustrating. Good luck choosing- :)
These are all wonderful! Expecially the coyote shot!
wow -- pure art
How close were you to that coyote? I lived in DC five years, and there's this big park running all the way through the middle of DC, Rock Creek Park. There were coyotes in there, and they were getting going and digging through the trash at the embassies and houses along the park.
So...on another note... you should publish a list of known skull poisons PSA style.
Great post
Thanks y'all! I really know nothing at all about real poetry (as you can probably tell) but I was really in the mood for something like this.
FC, nope, nary a drop as of late. The promised 1 inch was actually a measley 1/4 inch, and with temps nearing 100 the ponds are evaorating at an alarming rate.
RA I can't believe the things you see in the daytime there!
Bobby, the coyote shot was from the game cam. (Click on the Game cam link on the side and you can see more like that.) The regular camera I have now is not fast enough for a picture like that. "Oh, look, there's a coyote... let me turn the camera on and wait 2 minutes til it's ready to take a photo..." Not. That's one reason I want a new camera!
KF, yep, I can relate.
Harriette, nice to meet you! :)
Thanks again everybody. You sure make me feel good.
Great photo essay. I wouldn't want to meet up with that coyote!
oh sign me up for that camp!
looks like a lovely ramble. :-)
Beautiful painting with words. Oh, and some pretty fabulous photography too! :)
You have outdone- you! Such beautiful images and few words. This post has me up and out the door to see what I can see, in a macro kind of way. Thanks!
Mark me down. I'm coming to your camp!
Thanks y'all. You know I had almost forgotten, but at one time we'd actually had a thought or two about building cabins here and renting them out... could have had a real camp I suppose. :)
Beautiful images...beautiful words!
What a great post~ Thanks!
Great post! Absolutely describes the essence of summer!
