Gray Tractor Frog
We aren't the only ones who've been glad of the rain.
One thing I love about Gray Treefrogs (Hyla chrysoscelis or maybe Hyla versicolor) is how amenable they are to posing. I'm not sure if they're smart enough to know that we don't want to eat them, or if they're just very laid back.
Hubby took this picture over the weekend while I was elbow-deep in soap. I don't normally work on the weekends but I'd gotten a little behind, and it was raining all day anyway. (I can't seem to quit saying that.)

Great picture!!!!
Yes, we have been glad of the little rain that we got too! The crops need it.
Love these frogs and everyone needs rain this year!
froggie!
i love grey tree frogs. the ones at home are smart enough to live higher than i can reach, 'cause i'm fascinated with their little suction cup toes. (i stick 'em on the window of the storm door so i can watch them climb the window.) i like to watch them change colors too. nifty little frogs.
He looks like a living rock!

I love Froggies!
At my step-dads house he had a couple of ponds with hundreds of little "croakie guys". We would use them as cheap "alarms"....they would croak and chirp loudly until something or someone came near them...then the cacophony stopped. We always knew something was out front when it suddenly became quite.
Glad to hear you all have had rain-We've had some ourselves, but not near enough.
Great froggy picture :)
JohnDeerfrog?
Our tree frogs hide in the trees, so it's a real treat to see yours. How cute that it sits on the tractor. Where do they learn these tricks?
we call them spring peepers in our parts. and they are so cute. i posted a pic of one that got into my clothespin bag a couple weeks ago.

Cookie Jill, what you said about using the frogs as alarms reminded me of the White Chinese geese that my uncle used to have. Nothing could get by without them sounding the alarm. You always knew when someone was coming to the house. I miss those guys.
I just love the idea of natural alarms. :o)
Any frog would be welcome...haven't seen but a couple all summer. GTF's are a big favorite.
