Luna luna

The moon is no door. It is a face in its own right,
White as a knuckle and terribly upset.
-Sylvia Plath

The moon's an arrant thief,
and her pale fire she snatches from the sun...
-Shakespeare

I see the moon
and the moon sees me.
-Nursery rhyme

-----

It was cloudy most of the time, but every now and then we got a few nice glimpses of the lunar eclipse last night. Or as one of my friends calls it, the Moonar Clipse.

Clouds were ok though, since it meant that we got lots of rain, lovely rain, today.

  7. I went to the movies but I heard that it couldn't be seen on this side of the state because of the cloud cover.

  16. the clouds made the pictures even more delightful.

We had a clear and cold night --but I didn't take any pictures as I had to go to photo-shop class. (where I feel dizzy)

  18. Lovely eclipse photos!

It was cloudy here-- until around 10PM, AFTER the eclipse was all over. Ah well, there's always 2010...

  19. Karen, that's a wonderful job of choosing the right exposure...nice job! I know from experience that you have to underexpose the moon...and then underexpose more than you think you should...to get any detail of the maria. Again, great job!

Nice moon pics--and moon quotes too. I've just read through your posts for the last 10 minutes, enjoying your variety of nature shots. You sure do get a lot of interesting animals, and I had no idea that armadillos lived in Alabama.

  22. Thanks Pam. They have slowly but surely made their way into AL and are here to stay apparently!

  23. By the way, this post isn't about Andre Heller's "Luna Luna," a kind of large-scale art carnival... but I did see it, in Hamburg in 1987!
