The moon is no door. It is a face in its own right,
White as a knuckle and terribly upset.
-Sylvia PlathThe moon's an arrant thief,
and her pale fire she snatches from the sun...
-ShakespeareI see the moon
and the moon sees me.

It was cloudy most of the time, but every now and then we got a few nice glimpses of the lunar eclipse last night. Or as one of my friends calls it, the
Moonar Clipse.
Clouds were ok though, since it meant that we got lots of rain, lovely rain, today.
This is great and I just love your second photos!
ReplyDeletegood photos. it was complete cloud cover here.
ReplyDeleteGood night, moon.
ReplyDeleteSeveral people have posted pictures of the eclipse. I do believe I like yours the best! They really are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos~ and honey, it's raining in Georgia. Hope you get your fair share :)
ReplyDeleteAll nice shots, but that second one is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteI went to the movies but I heard that it couldn't be seen on this side of the state because of the cloud cover.
ReplyDeleteWow - great photos! I love the second one. I tried to get some shots, but my camera isn't the best :( Thanks for sharing with the rest of us!
ReplyDeleteNice pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteWOW!! I love the pictures on your blogs! Hubby and I are looking to move to a more countrified life. We are gettin' sick of this city life!! Thanks for sharing all those wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Those pics are terrific! I watch the eclipse here, but couldn't get any good pics (not enough of a zoom). Thanks for posting these.
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody! I liked that orangy corona too. One of the benefits of having clouds I guess.
ReplyDeleteWow! I wasn't at home--all I saw were clouds. :(
ReplyDeleteNice captions. Love the cloud-swathed moon.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics of the eclipse. I too like the second one..the clouds give it a haunting feeling.
ReplyDeletethe clouds made the pictures even more delightful.
ReplyDeleteWe had a clear and cold night --but I didn't take any pictures as I had to go to photo-shop class. (where I feel dizzy)
You would be one to take beautiful photographs of the moon. :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely eclipse photos!
ReplyDeleteIt was cloudy here-- until around 10PM, AFTER the eclipse was all over. Ah well, there's always 2010...
Gorgeous mooon shots.
ReplyDeleteKaren, that's a wonderful job of choosing the right exposure...nice job! I know from experience that you have to underexpose the moon...and then underexpose more than you think you should...to get any detail of the maria. Again, great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks y'all. Sorry it is taking me so long to get back to the comments these days, and to get around to visiting all of you as well.
ReplyDeleteNice moon pics--and moon quotes too. I've just read through your posts for the last 10 minutes, enjoying your variety of nature shots. You sure do get a lot of interesting animals, and I had no idea that armadillos lived in Alabama.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam. They have slowly but surely made their way into AL and are here to stay apparently!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this post isn't about Andre Heller's "Luna Luna," a kind of large-scale art carnival... but I did see it, in Hamburg in 1987!
