Not meeting expectations
Beavers have dammed up the creek, so we moved the game camera to the path that had been worn between there and the pond. After a couple of weeks, I was sure we'd have lots of mug shots of the little orange-toothed destructivores.
But there were only masked bandits! Wet ones. Coming...
... and going.

Your game cam shots are just so cool.
Thanks Dani, we really have enjoyed the game cam.
NCMW, I think it's the same one, too, since the pics were taken just minutes apart.
Robin, I hope so! :)
This post makes me dam envious.
Village of the Dammed?
Never mind, I'm a bit feeble-minded lately. So what are you doing about the beavers? (Including "nothing.") I kind of like their attitude, except for the Army Corps of Engineers part.
You've heard of the beavers in downtown Martinez (California), right?
FC, ha, not you!
Ron, yes! We aren't doing anything at this point. If it gets any bigger than that it might turn into a problem (flooding the neighbor's land), but it's in an ok place I guess. I'm not nuts about the number of trees they cut down or coppice but so far they are sticking to the other side of the creek for that, at least. They do loooooove privet, I'll give them that! Of course they aren't slapping Roundup on it 10 seconds after they cut it down, so it's probably not doing a lot of good.
No, I hadn't heard about any downtown beavers! I'll have to look it up. :)
Nice shots! "Downtown beavers"? Is that like the "red light district"? (Heh, sorry ;-)
