Install drip irrigation.

Did you actually get some rain? Not a drop here for ages despite all the recent thunder, dark skies and high winds. No drip irrigation either-badly in need of a new soaker hose, too. Your plants looks so much lusher than mine :(

Did it work? Would it work in a dry lake bed?

works every time

I need to do this - what kind did you purchase and where? Was it difficult to install?

Me, too! I gotta get me some of that drip irrigation if it will make it rain.

But even if it rained, it won't be long until you will be so glad you put the system in.

Grace, yes we got rain one day, and then some more that night. And then a little sprinkle another day. My in-laws in Cullman got rain 3 days in a row!

Pablo, yes it rained right after Hubby installed it. :)

Wren, yep!

Phillip, my husband found all the piece parts at Lowe's. He used the larger hose (1/2 inch, black) to go up and down the rows. They make this little tool to punch holes in that. Then you run the smaller piece of hose (1/4 inch, tan) over to the plants. There are little nozzles that you use to adjust the drip. If I remember correctly, it was all in the plumbing section. It didn't take him that long to put it all together. But we didn't get enough and will have to go back for more I think.

Mark, apparently it only works for a couple of days. :)

FTP, yes it appears that we are at the start of another drought. At least we got some good spring rains this year.

NCMW, yeah I don't expect it to last long. The pond levels are already soooo low.

KF, they were thirsty! No, you must be thinking about someone else... sorry!

I don't think this works in
Crispy-fornia. We've got tons of drips (installing)irrigation doesn't seem to be working...

;-)

Put in more where you are and send the rain this way.

Take the top of your JEEP, Paint the house, leave your camera outside on the picnic table.

I find these work for me.

No,no,no rent heavy equipment. I explained this on my blog already. Drought bustin' rain.

Jill, well they do say California has its own economy, so maybe that goes for the weather too. I know you need the rain even worse than we do.

FC, it's funny, I started to put my camera down on the picnic table just yesterday, then realized that chances were at least 85% that I'd forget and leave it there!

Shannon, oh I forgot! That is probably the more longer-lasting solution. :)

LOL!!! Alternatively, you can stand there with the hose for 3 hours or so...works every time! ;-)
