Stupefied by the labor of digestion

Bluh. I had to relax and do genealogy all day today, to recover from yesterday's intense gluttony. Bluh. Diet starts again next week, I guess.

I am much too lazy to send handmade cards for Christmas, so it's a wonder that I receive any.

My Mom's cross-stitch. I forgot to ask if she started these last Dec 26.

Cutie-pie niece designed this card from my sister's family. (My brother-in-law says he's the handsome one in this drawing.)

Mt artist friend included one of her dogs on their card.

OK, this one wasn't homemade, but my brother knows how much I love Edward Gorey!

I do believe that is one of the best collections of Christmas cards ever to hit a single mailbox.

Hah! I kind of enjoy sitting on my butt doing genealogy too. You can never go deep enough. Have you checked out the Mormons' latest portal? It's pretty cool (but beware if you should be doing something else).

never heard of the great veiled bear (unless that;s me when I crawl out of bed in the morning)

I decided I was going to watercolor and then print copies of the original for my Christmas Card. I made several attempts and then just packed up my paint and brushes and put them away.

So, I sent a few E cards.

I'm surprised people still send me cards in the mail, too

I gained five pounds (and I'm petite so that's a lot) since returning from Israel last July (and three of those pounds, mercifully not kilos, the past week!).

Given the horrors locally and globally, I do not have a complaint. Rather, I praise and relish goodness, excellence, humor, wit, cheer. And Rurality is one sure place I get that.

Oh, and my fave card is the hand-colored one, and I loved reading Nin instantly when I encountered her work in the late sixties. One friend even named her firstborn Anais.
