I think it is a mark of high intelligence to focus well and to remain immobile (except for breathing, twitching, and making those throat-clearing sounds if the focus is a moving thing-y). I love to watch, especially, on my cat and on yours in the photo, the back of the head and to imagine the eyes, the big beautiful eyes feasting. Thanks for posting this right now when I'm on the other side of the ocean from my tabby-too kitty girl usually at my keyboard, too. Oh, how I miss her, and wow has this photo triggered purring in me. Well, almost.
Living in rural north central Alabama. Currently overstocked with pets and poultry. Having lived in several small towns and larger cities, country life is taking some getting used to.
The photo is of Jasmine, fearless protector of the homestead from coyotes, bobcats, deer, herons, airplanes, butterflies and fuzzy little bunnies.

Too cute...my cat is mesmerized by the birds out the window.

To be fair, it doesn't take much to mesmorize a cat! lol

i like to go the other way. a laser pointer usually does the trick.
Does your cat ever peer around the back of the monitor, trying to sneak up on the image? Cracks me up every time!
lol
too funny!
Gail, ours like that too. Unfortunately their favorite spot for this activity is atop the kitchen table...
Nickie, well that's true! :)
Tamar, Dusty seems to be laid back this time... no twitching or such. I'll give her a pat for you. :)
Karl, my previous cat, Chester, LOVED that kind of game. He's chase a flashlight forever. These cats, not so much.
Swampy, no! They haven't done that so far. Your cats are obviously very intelligent!
TCE, yup. :)
Erika, I took a jillion photos and she didn't even stir.
I miss having kitties around. They are so fun!
