Better late than never

Santa brought 1/4 inch (.6 cm) on Christmas, but waited until yesterday to deliver the main gift: a whole inch (2.5 cm) of rain!

You know you're deep into drought when just an inch of rain makes you so happy. Of course, when you're this far gone, one inch doesn't help that much, but we'll take every little bit we can get.

We still need something like 12 - 15 inches (30 - 38 cm) 24 inches (76 cm) to catch up. I don't think it's going to happen. Weather experts are predicting more dry, dry, dry, at least through spring.

But I can't think about that now... it may rain again tomorrow.

Updated:
I was wrong about the rain deficit -- it was worse than I'd thought.

Good luck with your precipitation needs. At least you don't have a meteor impact to steer the weather away from you like I do.

What weather site are you visiting? That map looks much better than the ones I got to.

I hope you gets lots of nice steady rain....and no huge flooding downpours. We are finally catching up on our rain too!

Pablo, it's the NOAA site here. If that link doens't work, it's at http://radar.weather.gov/ .

Thanks Kerri, yes you're right, steady rain is best, and that's just what we had. Now if it would do that 15 more times, we'd be set. :)

I think Santa needed the better weather for traveling but waited till later to grant everyone's wishes! He has deadlines and many little ones waiting for him!

For only a 60% chance of rain here, sho is pouring (doing the happy rain dance!). Tomorrow, 80% so it probably wont... Good luck w/your dance :)

It seems like we've been getting frequent rainfalls lately and it is wonderful. Let's hope that next year will not be like 2007!

Well they seem to be backing off of their forecast for tomorrow, saying it will mostly go south of here instead. (It always seems to go north of here or south of here!)
