Long weekend

'Tis the season for baby toads.

Everywhere a nest, nest.

Woodpecker playground.

Top of the previous tree, now on the ground.

Somewhere behind these leaves, many warblers were cheerfully singing.
(Kentucky, Blue-winged, Common Yellowthroat, Northern Parula, Louisiana Waterthrush.)

Happy with "just clover".

Black Knot & the Cherry Tree.

RA, yes, we have had an overabundance of rain this spring.

FC, yep, all taken here at our place in our little hikes between raindrops.

WLB, thanks! I was lucky not to get the camera wet this time. :)

Lythrum, I wish I could see that tree from the house - I have a feeling it's pileated wps doing all that work.

we've been dodging raindrops here too. your pictures turned out beautifully. at least this time i remembered to put the camera inside before i went out and jumped in the puddles. you know, they're never really the same after you soak 'em.

Once upon a time I had what I called a woodpecker hotel and would sit and watch the various birdies~ Sadly, a storm knocked it over with all the little ones still inside :(

While I was digging taters the other day all kinds of frogs were hipping and hopping about. And the worms I dug up! I gave Dog one (she is such a beggar and will even eat a raw potato if I throw it at her). She didn't care for the worm too much and if looks could kill, I'd be 8 feet under :)
