Please be quiet

Sure, she looks cute. But you'd hate it too if you had to be trapped inside with her after she went into heat, and the vet couldn't see her until Thursday.

She really loves being let out to play by the pond. The water level is lower than normal now, and the cats & Jasmine all love to investigate the edge.

Just not today!

I take it she's "whiney" when in heat? (forgive my cat ignorance)

I can't believe she is being anything but perfect..

My sympathies. A cat in heat is not fun if you like to sleep, at all.

Aaack! Brings back memories. I had a calico that looked just like that (I guess most calicos look pretty similar) and she was a screamer. In fact, that's how Spot (my black and white cat) came to live with us...not because the calico screamed when she was in heat, but that it got the quick attention of her brother (Moses, The Dreaded Hunter Cat) and...voila...Spot, plus a couple of other kittens that we gave away.

I wish I had a pond.

Oh,dear. My sympathies...

Nothing worse than that incessant whining, yowling, growling expression of the torment they are in...

I once had a tortoiseshell cat just like her; she also went into heat before I had a chance to get her spayed. However, since she was a very testy cat, her "loving mood" actually improved her attitude, temporarily.

BTW, I've been reading your blog for some time, and enjoy it. I believe we are "almost neighbors" since I live in a neighboring county in north Alabama.

She is a gorgeous cat. But it sounds like I'm lucky never to have experienced a female in heat...

Hope you were able to get her to the vet for her sake as well as yours! :-)

Well Dusty is now on R&R, milking her operation scar for all it's worth. "Oh you'd better pet me ALL DAY LONG now or else I might not get better..." Well OK then.

FC it wasn't just that... it was that it was constant. Constant. Constant. Constant.

Waving at C.S.!

My cat is in heat and she's driving me absolutely nuts. I live in a flat so I'm terrified of what the neighbours think.
