I really like that photo. It makes me want to run out to some of our wild dogwoods and see if the bark looks the same as yours. We still don't have any blooms on ours...I'm hoping that by next week they will pop out.
Living in rural north central Alabama. Currently overstocked with pets and poultry. Having lived in several small towns and larger cities, country life is taking some getting used to.
The photo is of Jasmine, fearless protector of the homestead from coyotes, bobcats, deer, herons, airplanes, butterflies and fuzzy little bunnies.

but if you turned that photo on its side . . .
...it would be upside down.
what a gorgeous pattern and texture.
I've always enjoyed the bark of a dogwood, petals, and Pete.
Lovely!
Thanks. I don't know what it is that I find so attractive about dogwood bark. It's like a tiny mosaic. The moss in this one makes up the grout. :)
very nifty. i like your pictures. :-)

Strange illusion, but at first I thought it was an overhead photo of basalt columns. I've never really looked at the bark of a dogwood before.
