Have you seen Robin Wall Kimmerer's book, Gathering Moss? If not, you might enjoy her collection of engaging and educational essays about the nature of moss. :)

Ah well Pamela it seems like I missed the "winter" deadline but will have to remember to go back when it's time for the first flower of spring!
