The reason my head hurts

I tried several times to get a picture of the pollen that had collected on the water's surface after the rain. I must not have been holding my tongue just right.

I had just gotten through saying how everything looked better in pictures than in real life, so the pollen had to mock me by looking exceedingly bland.

Last week I was momentarily excited when I noticed (after only using it for a year or two) that one of my photo programs has a button labeled "quick fix".

It didn't take long to realize though, that its idea of a fix is good for a laugh but not much else.

But the "fix" of this pollen picture turned out to be interesting, bringing to the foreground the tree reflection that had been hidden.

My eyes are watering just looking at that. I'm glad spring is coming, but I hate the allergies that come with it. Ah-frickin-choo!

The pollen is killing my eyes. I look hungover right now.

I'll gladly take pollen over cold weather though.

We won't have pollen until the snow goes so I guess snow is good for something.
I really like the picture..

Usually we have a late spring frost that kills half of everything, but this year all the plants are alive and producing pollen in copious amounts.

In spots it looks like yellow cake on the ground. (The kind you eat, not the weapon-producing kind.)

The pollen never bothered me as a kid, only when I got to, umm, a certain age.

I've lived in Alabama for the past 10 years now, and I'm still adjusting to the pollen around here. I was born and raised in Indiana, so I'm used to a different mix of pollens. This is the time of year for better living through chemistry - Zyrtec or Claritin.
